ABOUT US
We are the Cape Land Rover Club
Founded on January 1st 1991, the CLRC is a family-orientated club that strives to organise events and outings that allow family participation.
The Club focusses on the following aims:
- Gather together Land Rover owners and enthusiasts.
- Organise off-road events of a competitive nature, with the purpose of providing drivers with the opportunity to improve their driving skills.
- Marshals are present to record the scores and to provide guidance and advice.
- Arrange social outings to restaurants and other venues, to allow members and their families to meet informally outside of off-roading.
- Arrange technical and instructive sessions to demonstrate and explain the use of off-road recovery equipment, vehicle mechanics and other important issues related to safe off-road driving techniques.
- Encourage members to use and maintain their vehicles effectively.
- Schedule off-road outings, which are arranged by the Club's Outings Organiser and include day trips, weekend trips, and longer trips with camping and/or chalet type accommodation. Soft roader outings are also included in the outings program.
- Social responsibility, where the Club assists emergency services and aid organisations, when called upon, to deliver goods during relief and rescue operations.
- Environmental responsibility, where the Club is involved with organised beach cleanups and other environmental issues which could affect the future of off-roading.

Chairman: Dennis Koopman
ButtonDennis joined the Club in 2004 and the committee a few years later. He has been the chairperson for the past two years. He is also involved with organising and setting up Fun Day and Technical Driving events.

ButtonDerick is a long-standing member of the Club and currently serves as the Vice-Chair and Regalia procurement

President: Patrick Yeadon
ButtonPatrick was Quarter Master of the Club for many years, since its inception in 1991. He then became the Clerk of events /course, Chairman from 2011 to 2013, and from 2017 to 2019. He is the current President of the Club.

Membership Secretary: Liz Yeadon
ButtonLiz & Patrick have been members of the Club since around 1988. A few years later, she became the Secretary and then the Membership Secretary - a post that she still fills presently.

Hon. Treasurer: Brett Moore
ButtonBrett has been with the Club for many years and is the caretaker of its finances.

Secretary & Social Media: Troy Burton
ButtonTroy serves as the Club's Secretary and also heads the Social Media team.

Outings Organiser: John Millar
ButtonJohn joined the Club in 2007, and has been the Outings Organiser since he joined the committee in 2013.

Radio/Safety Officer: Brian van Zyl
ButtonBrian joined the Club in 1999 and took over as Chief Marshal from 2002 until 2014. He was Vice-Chair for a few years and is currently the Radio and Safety Officer.

Social Organiser: Penny Randall
ButtonPenny joined the Club in February 2013 and her first outing was the West Coast trip in August 2013. She joined the committee as Social Convener in March 2015 and still holds that position.

Environmental & PR: Herbie Hellstrom
ButtonHerbie joined the Club in 1999 with a Range Rover Classic. After many enjoyable outings, he became the newsletter editor and now, several Land Rovers later, he focusses on the environment.

ButtonPaul joined the Club a few years ago and now is co-Outings Organiser.
