Hi Everyone! OK! For those with school going kids, the 1st quarter fun has hopefully established some pattern in the unbelievably busy chaos. Plan those precious weekends that are still empty on the calendar very carefully! Since the election date has been confirmed as 22 April, there are now four public holidays in April. So with a bit of planning, there are at least two long weekends to be had! If you can afford it, use them for those slightly further afield outings that do not fit travel-wise into a normal two day weekend. For those with the luxury of time on your hands, the global economic crisis hopefully has some benefits. It would be interesting to know whether camping and touring facilities have become more available and / or cheaper. Any volunteers for some research into for instance the availability of facilities in the South African, Namibian, Botswana and Zambian parks? When last have you had a look at the website? Yes, we have had a glitch, but the site is back up and running, HOWEVER if you have images of things club or Land Rover related, please upload to the gallery section. We have lost many images, that now needs replacing. A few members have been hard at work posting articles and images. If you still have images of past outings, why not give it a go – create a folder if one does not yet exist for a particular outing and add some memories! Speaking of the web, did you know that a virtual CLRC exists on Facebook? If you are part of the 21st century and therefore computer literate, have a look at www.facebook.com and search for the club. Interesting to see what some members get up to … Call for contributions: Please, all reports/submissions are most welcome. Remember this is our magazine. Note that the deadline is the 20th of each month. If anyone has any relevant photographs, please forward for inclusion in the newsletter. And lastly, a friendly reminder that CLRC membership renewal fees are now overdue!
For the same bargain price as last year of R220,00 (yep, 0% Inflation) you are able to extend your membership by 12 months. That includes competition entry fees for Points Events and a subscription to the newsletter (whether you like it or not – ed). |
