Hi Everyone!
I’m back!
Firstly a BIG thank you to Herbie for being a wonderful Editor for well over two and a half years! You did a wonderful job! Enjoy your rest!
The Committee has co-opted me to stand in as Editor until the next AGM when all those fighting for the portfolio will have to canvas votes. Thank you upfront to Dave Pretorius for being on standby to help, as well as Marilyn van der Rhede who has agreed to project manage to magazine for me in terms of printing and distribution.
The Committee feels that perhaps the time has come for the magazine to evolve in terms of frequency and format. Times have changed and I am sure that you would agree that most communication now takes place electronically. Watch this space.
This is YOUR magazine! Contribute that picture, write that article. Get involved! Email me and get published! Watch out for Inside Track, Landy Update and Marius the Mechanic!
CLRC OPPORTUNITY AND A CALL FOR HELP:
The cover pages we use to bind the newsletters in, have now nearly run out (at last – ex ed). If there are any budding artists out there that would like to submit designs of how they believe the cover page should look, PLEASE submit to any committee member or the editor by Sunday 23 August 2009 latest. Please add your name and contact details on the back of the page. The rules are easy and simple: We need an A5 sized page (half of A4) design for a new coverpage that incorporates the CLRC name and logo as well as the newsletter name “Roving Reporter”. The concept may include photographic images and/or artistic sketches that will print well. (Colour or black & white).
The coverpage selected will be a committee decision and the winning design will rewarded with a CLRC prize. The committee decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
For those businesses who are interested in advertising on the front inside, rear inside and/or rear backpage of the cover, please contact the environmental officer (Peter Brandt) or the editor with your proposals and/or requests. The idea is that the printing costs will be shared by the advertisers.
Call for contributions: Please, all reports/submissions are most welcome. Remember this is our magazine. Note that the deadline is the 20th of each month. If anyone has any relevant photographs, please forward for inclusion in the newsletter.
