Modified By Dave on 4/26/2009 4:36:36 PM)

The ARB bull bar has been discarded in favour of a Burnco BB , because of the poor approach angle associated with the ARB

The 29mMHz aerial on the left ? I have an aerial on both sides : one 27 MHz and one 29MHz  , and i use a GME GX300 radio which can do both wavelengths.

From a purely technical point of view the low mounting is not ideal . But from a practical point of view it works - I still get good convoy coms and the aerials are fairly well protected..

PS  a better place would be higher on the bullbar , more central. This is where I agreed with Burnco to fit them . But they decided otherwise - probably in error..

Shouldn't an aerial be mounted as HIGH as possible!?

Prezactly - but mount it on the roof for instance and you will regularly replace it because it will get damaged on trees , low garages etc. Compromise...
