A BIG thank you to Dave Pretorius for his entusiastic assistance and for recommending Marius at Savannah 4x4 to sort out my Defender's engine malady. It turned out to be the fuel pump, which Marius and his team fixed in a most satisfying manner. We decided to go the "cut-out in the floor" route to access the in-tank pump, and this was done very neatly. I would easily recommend the guys at Savannah for this repair when necessary. Thank you Marius, we're purring again and all's well. It may be interesting for some folks to know that over the 10 days or so that I was trouble-shooting the missing, jerking, no revs  symptoms, I was still able to move around, even going from Diep River to Gordon's Bay and back, on what is now apparent was the "limp home" feature in Landrover's software. I was never stranded on the roadside.Thanks again, Dave and Marius!
