Peeling paint

I have a severe peeling paint problem on the roof of my 2004 Defender 110 CSW. The paint is delaminating from the primer and is very brittle; flaking off with garden hose pressure when washed. Of course, Land Rover S.A don't consider this as a "corrosion" problem and so are not interested. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, would you mind advising me as to how you handled it? Thanks!

Re: Peeling paint

 Hi Skillie

Dont lose any sleep over the problem. I would try repainting with Hammerite smooth white. Use a roller or paint brush . Remove all loose paint and use the Hammerite primer .

The recommendations by Hammerite are that the paint is not diluted. You will probably have to use some Hammerite thinner to get a smooth finish. Work carefully and you will get an excellent job. Try that with a Toyota ! Would be a disaster. ! Perhaps do a small section first and wait for a few months .
