Something that makes me mad when I open the bonnet of a car is to see the engine covered by a black plastic panel. It can and does hide a multitude of sins. Land Rover call theirs an "Acoustic Panel" . Yes , it does help a bit with noise.
I have permanently removed mine. It does cause a very small increase in noise , more noticeable outside the car than inside.
What it does do is allow a far better identification of potential problems .
It also can only but help a little bit with cooling. |
